Turning industrial carbon into ethanol
Steelanol is ArcelorMittal’s carbon capture and utilisation project at its Ghent steelworks. It uses gas-fermentation technology to convert carbon-rich gases from steel production into ethanol, bringing industrial carbon into a new product cycle.
Biocatalysts convert the gases into ethanol that can serve fuel markets or become a building block for chemicals and consumer products. ArcelorMittal reported its first industrial ethanol production on November 2023.
MIND Supply
MIND supplied these vessels as an already approved supplier of ArcelorMittal from previous deliveries following a manufacturing process monitored by Worley Belgium.
